Developer API and webhooks integration

Connect Chatumi to your own software with API keys and signed webhooks.

Requirements: An owner or admin login.

Create a key

  1. Open Developer › API keys › New key.
  2. Pick only the permissions you need and, if you like, limit it to one bot.
  3. Copy the key (it starts with cu_live_). It is shown once.

Call the API

  1. Send the key as a header: Authorization: Bearer cu_live_…
  2. GET /public-api/v1/agents lists your bots.
  3. POST /public-api/v1/agents/{id}/chat with {"message":"…"} gets an answer.
  4. GET and POST /public-api/v1/agents/{id}/sources read and add knowledge.

Receive events

  1. Open Developer › Webhooks › New endpoint and choose events such as conversation.created, lead.created, contact.created, order.created, conversation.handoff and conversation.resolved.
  2. Each delivery is signed. Check the X-Chatumi-Signature header: "v1=" followed by HMAC-SHA256 of "{timestamp}.{body}" with your signing secret (the timestamp is in X-Chatumi-Timestamp).
  3. Failed deliveries are retried with back-off, and you can resend them from the dashboard.

Limits

Sixty requests per minute per key. Errors come back as JSON with a message field.
