Facebook Messenger integration

Answer Facebook page messages from the Chatumi Inbox.

Requirements: A Facebook page and a Meta developer app with the Messenger product added.

Create the Meta app

1. Go to developers.facebook.com, choose My Apps › Create App, and pick Business.
2. Add the Messenger product.
3. Under Messenger › Settings, connect your Facebook page and generate a Page access token.

Add the channel in Chatumi

1. Open Channels › New channel and choose Facebook Messenger.
2. Paste the App secret (App settings › Basic), the Page access token and your Page ID.
3. Make up a Verify token (any long random text) and type the same text in Meta in the next step.
4. Save, then copy the Webhook address Chatumi shows.

Connect the webhook

1. In Meta open Messenger › Settings › Webhooks › Add callback URL.
2. Paste the Webhook address and your Verify token, then Verify and save.
3. Subscribe the page to the messages field.

Check it works

Send your page a message from a personal Facebook account. It appears in the Inbox. Replies must be sent within 24 hours of the customer's last message (a Meta rule).
