WordPress integration

Add the chat to any WordPress site with the Chatumi plugin.

Requirements: WordPress 6.0 or newer, PHP 7.4 or newer.

Download the WordPress plugin

Find your two details

  1. In your Chatumi dashboard open AI agents and pick your bot.
  2. Open the Install tab.
  3. Copy the Chatumi address (for example https://chat.yourcompany.com) and the Bot public ID (a 26-character code).

Install the plugin

  1. Download the plugin ZIP from this page.
  2. In WordPress open Plugins › Add New › Upload Plugin.
  3. Choose the ZIP, then Install Now and Activate.

Connect it

  1. Open Settings › Chatumi.
  2. Paste the Chatumi address and the Bot public ID.
  3. Tick Show the chat. Optionally hide it for logged-in users.
  4. Save.

Allow your website

In the same Install tab, add your website address (for example https://www.yourshop.com) under Allowed websites. The chat only appears on websites you list here, so nobody can copy your bot onto their own site.

Check it works

  1. Open your website in a private browser window.
  2. You should see the round chat button in the bottom corner.
  3. Ask a question your website answers, such as your opening hours.
